Product Description

The CA7814 is a compact wideband digitising receiver with an operating frequency range of 9 kHz to 32 MHz. The CA7814 receiver comprises a low-noise high-linearity front end, and, a state of the art digital down-converter card.

The main features of the analogue front end:

  • Low noise-figure.
  • Step gain control covering 46 dB in 2 dB steps.
  • Internal pre-selector comprising a range of high-pass and low-pass filters delivering 14 user-selectable band pass filters.
  • Low noise system clock for digital down-converter card low jitter digitisation.

The CA7814 is capable of continuously digitising the frequency range 9 kHz – 32 MHz, and lossless transfer of that data to internal or external DSP resources via high speed digital interfaces. The output data is presented in VITA-49 format with precision time-stamps.

The CA7814 embodies a XilinX® Kintex® Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) for data management and interfacing, and optionally, a XilinX® ZynQ® System on Chip (SoC) for high performance digital signals processing applications.

The CA7814 is optionally embodies internal DSP functionality as follows:

  • Power Spectral Density (PSD) - summary frequency-domain data with upto 1 million points.
  • 128 channel channeliser - 128 configurable narrowband DDR/DDC time-domain (narrowband) data channels.
  • Wideband RAM buffer/delay line for DDR/DDC data (pre-channeliser).

The CA7814 accepts external reference inputs (1PPS, 10 MHz and sample clock) for multi-unit phase coherent or synchronous operation e.g. for direction finding or geo-location applications.
