Masthead Amplifier

A masthead amplifier is an RF subsystem placed at near the antenna. Key components are low noise amplifier (LNA) and filtering. Typically a masthead amplifier is used to overcome cable loss in a receive system, or for specialist filtering to overcome the problems presented by a congested, high signal level environment.
